 Hello Divers,

It is with great pleasure that I announce we are ready to launch our Volunteer Dive Program here at the NC Aquarium at Pine Knoll Shores! Having endured more delays than anyone could have imagined, it’s hard to believe that this is really happening. As planned, we will have 14 teams of divers, each consisting of 1 Team Leader and 4 Divers. Once assigned to a team, you will volunteer on the same day every other week. Our plan is to start training the Team Leaders first, then the first 2 divers per team, and then the final 2 divers to complete each team. All of this will happen over a period of several months starting as soon as possible.

Since it has been such a long wait, we would like to start by asking each of you to let us know if you are still interested in being a Volunteer Diver. Please do this by clicking the “E-mail Us” button on the website at www.ncadivers.com and simply replying “YES, I am still interested in being a Volunteer Diver” or “NO, I am no longer interested in being a Volunteer Diver”. We would like to hear from you no later than Monday, November 5th with this reply and hope to hear that everyone is still on board.

As I recall, many of you were interested in being Team Leaders. To help make the best selection, we would like to hold interviews for those 14 positions. Team Leaders must have excellent organizational and communication skills to be responsible for assisting with the day-to-day management of their team. If you are indeed interested in being a Team Leader, please reply by clicking the “E-mail Us” button on the website at www.ncadivers.com and indicating your choice of one of the following half-hour Interview Times… November 8th, 10th, and 12th starting at 11am, 12pm, 1pm, 3pm, 4pm, 5pm, 6pm, and 7pm. Interview times are scheduled on a “first come, first serve” basis. Again, we would like to hear from you no later than Monday, November 5th with this reply. After that we will contact you via e-mail to confirm your time or set up a suitable alternate time.

You guys have been very understanding of the long delay and we really appreciate it. It will be great see you all again and even better when we’re all diving together. At that point we’re sure that you will agree that it was worth the wait!

Many thanks,

SB
